* October 21, 2010, Cumberland County's county-wide reassessment is found to be accurate based on the conclusion of an independent evaluator, Alan Dornfest. In his report, Dornfest said, the current reassessment meets the goals of establishing market value on an overall basis for properties throughout Cumberland County. Dornfest pointed out some individuals might not be happy with their reassessments, but a reassessment and the numbers are evaluated by statistical groups, and not as individuals.
* On November 4, 2010, Cumberland County commissioners approved in a 2-1 vote the 2010 reassessment assessed values. Chairman Gary Eichelberger voted against it. Commissioner's had until November 15 to decide whether to approve the new assessed values from the 2010 reassessment, or stick with the current assessed values from the 2004 reassessment.
